any grants /funding for a computer?

just got signed up for some courses at a local college (free, as long term unemployed- check your local college for funding ASAP, as tax year ending soon, so its use it or lose it!)

my home pc does not have the accounting software used, and i doubt it would load anyway / i could afford to buy it anyway..

does anyone know of any grants available for getting a new(er) pc, or laptop?

You seem to want the JCP to furnish your house! Are there not PCs that you can use at college?

college library? I'm sure that they multi user licences for the software on campus if you are required to use it. If it's a necessity, is it not made available to you at a discount rate through the student union?

The only grants for computers I'm aware of is the one for those on low income with children in school at specific age groups - but wouldn't come with the accounting software you use so wouldn't solve your problem unfortunately.

Are you getting any kind of bursary while doing the course?

I take it then you don't have kids that might qualify for the laptop grant? Or you can't use software at the college library? Or you can't get it at a discount rate through the student union?

If you are unemployed do you not already receive a grant of £128.60 each and every fortnight (£130.90 from next month)? You can use this to buy a new computer.

Enrol on a open university course and you will get a grant to buy a new computer. that is where mine came from. The courses are free as well.
