Share Certificate - old address and want to transfer to Hoodless Brennan

I have share certificates for Barclays and Alliance and Leicester. The address on each certificate is for my old address. I want to transfer the shares to Hoodless Brennan account but not sure what address to put down on the CREST transfer form. The CREST form states that the name and address entered must match that on the share certificate. I informed both share registrars of my new address some time ago and they did not issue new certificates with my new address. I spoke to someone at Hoodless Brennan but she was not sure - she said that I may have to write my new address in pencil on each certificate which sounds a bit strange.
If anyone could clarify what goes on the CREST form and whether I change the address on the share certificates I would be grateful.

It matters not one jot what address is on your certificate.
In fact on most of mine the address is on a side piece of paper not actually part of the certificate.
You put down your current address so that CREST can send you your half yearly statement of shares held.

i transfered some shares to HB and some of them had my previous address, changed them with pencil on certificate and put current address on crest form as this was address registered with the registrars.
