Short Term Rentals

I'm not sure of the right place to post this
We are in the wrong house for our family life and dynamics - we are seriously thinking of selling it.
I am feeling very stressed by things just now and need somewhere to go to get away from it for a while. Staying with family is not an option as staying with relatives, things can grate after a short time. Christmas is about our limit.
I have looked at rentals but it is usually 6 months minimum and holiday homes are for only a short time (1-2 weeks).
Is there something available that is in between and not cost the earth?

Don't totally understand why you need to rent somewhere whilst you try to sell your house . You will be paying both mortgage and rent. When I rented my place out my bs said it had to be for 6 or 12 month contracts at a time. This was a few years back and before BTL became popular. Maybe someonw on the house buying board would know better, you could PM the board guide to ask them to move this thread.0

We can't put it up to sell till the weather is cooler. I don't feel strong enough to cope with selling the house, so if I left, I would recoup and the atmosphere in the house would be better too, not to mention tidier. People pick up on bad vibes when viewing.
I wonder if there are agents that do shorter term letting than 6 months? An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :rotfl: :rotfl: :mad:

You should look in your local paper. I've seen a few ad's for Month by month cash in hand rentals... although, im sure there not totally legal, and if something happened......0

You can search for short-term rentals on Rightmove. Under "Renting" when it gets to "Confirm Location and search preferences", select Type of Letting, Short-term. You may need to start with a fairly wide area under "Search Area", but there seem to be a few around.
Also there are agencies that specialise in short-term rentals, Google for "short lets" + your location.0
