Working Part time - loss of Benefits??

Hello All,
I am currently receiving the following benefits:
JSA (Income Based)
Mortgage Interest Payments
Council Tax Benefit
Combined Monthly Value of benefits £1,105
I was made redundant in Oct 2008 and have been unable to find work since.
I am now considering working part time but I am concerned how this may affect my benefits.
Please can someone help with how many hours I can do without losing any of the above benefits.
Thank you for your help.
David

It depends on how much you'd earn; and not the amount of hours you work.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
If you took on work you would lose the mortgage interest help also the JSA and possibly council tax benefit although you might still get some help with that 10

David in simple terms you get to keep the first fiver you earn after that they deduct pound for pound from your JSA.*SIGH*0

Thank you all for your help.
I had to sign on today so I asked the same questions there. They basically said the same as DX2........ you keep the first £5 then they deduct £1 for £1. Once my earnings exceed my JSA I will get nothing, although I can still sign on and get my stamp paid.
I was also told that I have got to attend a "New Deal" interview followed by a SeeTec presentation on the 30th March.
Does anyone know what this is and what I should expect.
My career up until redundancy was in sales management, earning a good salary but I have found it so hard to get back in to work. I am probably applying for 20+ jobs a week but I'm lucky if I get a couple of interviews a month. I can't believe its my age as I'm only 46 but the longer you stay out of work the harder it is to convince any employer to take you on.
Feeling pretty low today...................I always do after I have signed on..:(0 -
You keep the first £5 and then deduct £ for £ provided you work UNDER 16 hours per week. The moment you work 16 hours or more you would be signed off JSA and would lose your mortgage payments. You would then start from scratch with a new claim.
As for Council Tax Benefit, you would need to inform the council how much you are earning and they would re-assess.
Sorry, I don't know much about New Deal.“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
