My deal at present with virgin media is 2mg broadband ,XL tv ,phone -free phone calls anytime £42 per month .I have only just entered a 12 month contract with them 3 days ago .I dont now feel like they have offered me such a good deal considering i have been a customer for 8 years ,they made me feel like it was just wondered what other people thought of the price of the package ive got ?
Do they not have a cooling off period when you enter a contract ? I tried to get a HD box & tried to get a better deal but ive no chance now0 -

You should get a cooling off period but be aware, I received a letter giving me 7 days from the date of the letter to cancel but I received the letter 10 days after the letter date
Call them as soon as saying you aren't happy, they may do better for you.0 -
anyone after a V+ needs to play the system, as I did recently
used to do it on Sky all the time as well, anyway here is the way to get your V+ box "FREE"
I recently phoned VM, requesting a free V+ box, as SKY where offering Sky HD+ free + half price package for 12 months
when I quoted this, basically I was not offered a carrot (or incentive to stay):mad:
I was quoted £49 installation + £5 a month, as I'm on the basic package, I mentioned about the Sky offer etc, VM would not budge
so I cancelled all my package there and then, dam I thought, as I had to give 4 weeks notice I knew I could call back to reinstate my package
3 days later VM call me back to query why I was leaving VM etc
I told them I wanted a V+ box, and don't see why I should pay for either the installation or a monthly fee
the guy asked was I offered the V+ etc, I said yes, but at a cost of £49 & £5 a month, I said why should I pay when I could get it free off sky etc
I was then offered the V+ box for free installation, as a goodwill gesture, I was also offered 6 months free (wish I'd of stuck out for 12 months now)
however considering I was originally offered sweet F.A
I think a V+ box for free installation and 6 months free was a good deal
so the moral of the tale, is if your not happy with what your offered cancel your package with immediate effect (you can always call back to reinstate your package)0 -
thats a great result :T can i ask what package/services have you got now and how much are you paying ?0

well after following my own advice, a few years ago
I used the same tactic's, I asked for a rebate/upgrade etc
got knocked back, so I cancelled the whole lot (ring any bells)
rang back about 2 weeks later to try again, BINGO, RESULT
was offered a deal to stay, not sure exactly what I'm paying something around £28 now (used to be about £26) the deal is I get about £19 back a month as a loyalty bonus
this is for basic TV, free calls 24/7 (except mobile etc) & 10mb broadband
the crazy thing is at the time I got my deal, I told 2 friends to do the same thing, they got a slightly better deal than me, only by coppers, never the less :mad::mad::mad:
currently paying roughly £28 + extra phone calls(£2-£3), oh and a £5 for the V+
still well cheaper than what I should be paying :beer:0 -
Rang virgin as Im leaving Sky due to their rising internet costs for the internet and crap attitude and have been offered
L broadband, xl tv, and medium phone plus free v+hd box and installation. 2 months at 11.99 only for the phone line as its an internet offer they matched on the phone, then he said drop down during the second month to the mediium tv and you will be paying only £34.99 ( plus Id have got the v+hd box free). Installing 10th May.
12 month contract so will check again nearer the time to see whats on offer.
