Virgin V+, how much should it cost?

We've had virgin in our current house since we moved in but have a new house that we're moving to in 2 weeks (outside of a virgin cable area) so we had Sky+HD installed at the new house at the weekend and I can honestly say that it is so much better than Virgin.
Can't comment on the Internet yet but the Sky+HD box is so much faster and I very much doubt that it will keep crashing like the Virgin boxes do.
My only quibble was Sky wanted £10 a month extra for multiroom (compared to Virgin's £5pm) so we haven't gone for multiroom this time and will probably just get a freeview box.0 -

I think for me it was all about the internet and phone, I could have easily moved to Sky for the TV but to move over now would cost me £30 installation and there's no point because the saving is not enough.0 -
I thought I already had a pretty good deal XL tv, L BB and L phone i was paying £42.24. I wanted V+, but was seriously considering sky (£44 for sky +, multiroom, 10mb BB and free evening and weekends phone plus a £25 M and S voucher.
Finally managed to haggle virgin down to £43.29 for V+,multiroom and to keep my package the same but he wouldn't budge on the £49 installation but noticed I had had some problems with on demand last month and so credited me my £25 TV fess for last month. If I had wanted they would have given me some cracking deals on sports etc.
It is worth speaking to the retentions team.0 -

Hi all,
Thought i should post my experience here. Just spoke to the retention team after talking to customer services this morning and being unimpressed with their offers (I wanted to upgrade to HD).
I am now going to be paying £40.24 per month for the following:
free V+ HD box and installation
TV XL
BROADBAND L (10MBs)
Phone Line
I was previously paying £42.99 for:
TV L
BROADBAND XL
Phone Line
So I've had to drop my broadband down a bit and upgrade my TV package but I think overall it's not a bad deal. Good luck!0 -
Does anyone know if you have to have a phone when you have the TV service???
Think I read something about it but not sure...
I want to cancel my phone.0
