Hi Guys
Hope you can help! I have just cancelled sky and gone with Virgin (install april) Just thought though that I am in a contract with plusnet for internet, does that mean i will not be able to use it as i will no longer have bt?0 -
V+ HD Box now £49 although last year when it went down it was only for a short period.
you can also get broadband and TV without the phone

I was offered the V+ box upgrade to my existing Sky box for 30 quid by retentions. This was after telling them that Sky are offering free Sky+HD boxes to new and existing customers. The 30 quid was to match Sky's installation fee.
Worth a shot - but a friend of mine got one for free. In any case i'm seriously considering ditching Virgin for Sky. They have more HD channels. I'm getting tired of Virgins constant increase in prices - particularly on phone calls.0 -
I was told by the guy who fitted my V+ box that I could connect my Humux up to the V+ box and use it as additional storage. Haven't done so yet as I have needed to but that's what he told me!
Somebody said that there is an update to the V+ box? Does anybody know if everyone will get this or not? Or will we have to make do with the old one?0 -
Well after a bit of haggling with retentions I got £9 knocked off my monthly bill making it £37.50 for XL tv, 10mb Broadband and landline with free evening calls. £30 for V+ box installation. I had to agree to a new 12 month deal but that is no problem for me. Also I suspect the monthly charge will go up next month with everyone else but so would my old price plan!
I am pretty pleased with this, thanks for all the help and advice, when I started this thread I was being quoted £75 install and no monthly discount so THANKS EVERYONE!!!0 -
Cool
I also got a deal, they called me to sk what they could do for me and i got:
Free Install of v+HD box (originally charging me £75)
Extra box
XL with free ESPN
Phone Line weekend calls & International Calls
10 mb broadband
Picturebox
£20 Credit
£30 Family & Friends
First 6 Months £46.49
and then £58.99
I was happy with this as still in a contract with other broadband provider so they offered me the free broadband for 6 months.0 -
Hi folks, hope you can help me.
I currently have Virgin XL BB, M TV and basic phone line (M?). Currently paying about £41 a month for that. Is that about right? Its hard to work out their website but it seems new customers could pay £43 and get XL BB + XL TV for just a bit more.
I rang customer services earlier and asked what they could do for me if I upgraded TV + took a V+ box and they want to put it up to about £53 a month. Does that sound expensive to anyone else or am I just being a tight fisted git? If I understand the Sky website correctly I could get a similar package to the one I'm after for about £34 pm.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
Hi, depends what you want, I have M BB, M Phone, XL TV and have just got it reduced to £37 and that is with V+ and International calls add-on.
I got a tenner knocked off but have had it a year so you may have to wait until your contract runs out before you get a better deal.
For me though, VM beats Sky on a few things...broadband and international calls.0 -
Hi Jomo, I've been with them for ages, not under contract at the moment, and I'm after XL BB, XL TV & "whatever's the cheapest" phone, plus a set top box that can do HD.
If you're paying £37 for that you're not far behind me. Guess my current price is somewhere between "about right" and "not a bad deal actually" then.
I really wish they would make it clear and simple to understand. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

Well I was paying £47 for my package so I think I was paying too much!!!
But the best thing to do is call them as if you are leaving, they may do you a better deal. That's what I did anyway!
Good luck!0
