who do equifax really use

the only true company that uses equifax for credit applications is barclaycard,in earlier threads people are saying,m&s mastercard and john lewis card,which are both owned by hsbc,who we all know dont check applications for credit card on equifax,sky card dont do credit cards no more,no do marbles,

HSBC searched my Equifax a few weeks ago when i made an application.

so you are a hsbc customer then,check your experian aswell they will be on there to,well hsbc must change there minds who they check then, mate and his girlfriend both hsbc customers applied for credit cards 2 weeks ago and they checked experian

John Lewis search Equifax, HSBC rotate between Experian, CallCredit and Equifax for account products including Credit Cards.
Sygma Bank and Creation Loans use Equifax as do Tesco loans, RBS Group (inc Tesco cards) use Experian for credit cards and Experian and Equifax for Current accounts and loans.

but on john lewis credit card application at the bottom it says hsbc,so how come john lewis uses equifax,when hsbc you say uses experian

yeah you are right just applied for john lewis mastercard and they done application through equifax

The two credit card companies that exclusively search Equifax are

Barclaycard
Sygma Bank (Silver card, Accessory card, JJB card, Flybe card, etc)

The only bank that exclusively searches Eqifax is Bank of Cyprus UK

The only Loan providers that exclusively searches Equifax are Zopa and Creation Loans.

Simples

(Other companies have searched equifax exclusively in conjunction with some applications but aren't garunteed to do this with all applications)

RBS searched EQ and EX when I took out a loan, current account, and credit card with them a few years ago. They searched Experian exclusively when my mother applied for a Tesco card and searched both when she applied for a current account with them.

As I said in my last post although some people have experienced other companies exclusively searching one or the other, they aren't like this across the board
