is JSA now taxed? got new tax code for 2010/2011- 'BR' (basic rate)..

first time my JSA has been taxed.. is this a new thing, or because i had found 1 week work recently..? hope reverts to full JSA or i am bogered.
also, out of the blue and with no covering letter, i got a cheque from hmrc for £140 odd..?

Its an error lots of people who are signing on have been issued with the BR code you need to contact the tax office and let them know0

eventually got though- JSA is unaffected, 'BR' tax code for when i get a new job.. then resets to 'normal' tax rate..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
