thanks greenpixey for your good advice/ warning to steer clear of the internet phone and thanks happyhunter for info on p&p and limited availability!

i seem to remember from tesco's TV advert that calls are free-- very cheeky of them to not say that charges actually do apply!
    THANKS!:happylove

I will be sending off for one. I did a bit of research. Seems you wil be able to download some software called Skypemate and then you can use it on Skype. It's free calls PC tp PC anyway if somone else has the Tesco phone account -- you only pay if you phone landlines and mobiles. You get £5 of free calls. I shall use that up and then if necessary discard the phone. I have downloaded Skypemate already in anticipation. I hope to be able to use it on Skype then. Sometimes Skype gives away free call time -- advertised by kind people on this forum. I save it up and then make land or mobile calls with it. No mention of P&P to pay. Worth a shot for free in my opinion. If it's no good I'll just throw it away.

The calls to other Tesco internet phone users will be free (which is what they're advertising), but calling landlines/mobiles isn't. HTH :)

I don't know the answer to your questions, but I do know that Martin advised in this weeks news letter email to stay away from the Tesco internet phone. I copied part of here if you're interested.

"Ignore Tesco's 'internet phone ad': the normal phone is massively cheaper!
Tesco's launched a multi-million ad-campaign for its new internet phone (calls from a computer to a normal phone). Yet other internet phones are much cheaper, and none are cheaper than the top normal phone providers anyway. It charges 2p/min to call a landline, yet you can get it for 4p/call. It charges 10p/min to call mobiles, yet they're available for 4p/min. Don't touch it with a barge pole! Related Articles: UK's Cheapest Home Phone Provider, Free PC to PC Calling"

I bought one of these and use it with Voipcheap so to get it for free is good moneysaving.

Hi Nudge, I'm off to Somerset so if you or anyone can let me know when the Wookey Hole coupon is in. Not sure of any other attractions in Somerset apart from this.
    Thanks in advance.
