Stupidly I didn't realise that online payments took so long & my payment was 1 day late, just got this months statement & my 0% deal has gone
This is the very first late payment, what are the chances of getting my 0% back if I call them & complain? I had no idea they could do that!
Also with the new laws that came out on Mon are they even allowed to?
esp this part that states........- Interest-rate increases will affect only new purchases, not existing balances, unless a cardholder misses payments for more than 60 days.
Any ideas folks?
If I can get the deal back then def setting up a DD for payments, if no I'll have to change cards which is a pain

Always worth asking - however virgin are MBNA and I have four cards with them. I phoned them up to set up my direct debits so I didn't miss any payments and kept the 0% deals. After some time explaining this and repeating it back several times to their call centre in India I was happy or so I thought
That was until 2 of my cards missed payments because direct debits were not set up I lost the 0%. I put in a formal complaint asked them to listen to the call I still did not get back my 0% and complaint failed. I had too much going on to chase it further once I had the response.
Thank you MBNA - for nothing except a higher interest rate sooner than it should have been.
Hope you have a different experience.0 -
I would say if you've had it a few months and made payments on time every month previously then your chances are good based upon my experience - I rang Virgin after having made a late payment following being away - it was maybe 3 days late - and they were happy to refund the fee and set the terms back as they were previously, as I'd always made regular payments previously, and they set up a direct debit thereafter. Try it, you've got nothing to lose!:)0

I agree with Graymarl above, I had my 0% with Virgin revoked after I set up a direct debit too late to cover the first payment due on the account (stupid, stupid, lesson learnt!), I make a friendly call with many apologies to their customer services and the nice chap on the other end put it back on again - it's worth a call, especially if you combine it with setting up a direct debit. Good luck

You wont get the 0% back unless you're very very very lucky. They may apply a 0.9% apr deal for how ever long you had left on the promotion.0
