Good to hear your keeping up with the spending diary. Well done!
Are you managing to get to the end of the week with some over to carry forward?0 -
Yeah, loving using the spending diary. Really stops me from spending! Seem to be able to make £150 last all week. Any left over goes in sealed tin for xmas or used for the next week. Need to review how much I give myself each week because I had to guess an amount as I had no idea how much I spent per week on food etc.
DH treated us to the pictures tonight. Saw The girl with a Dragon Tatoo. I rated it 7/10. We sat in the Directors Lounge that costs twice as much as the regular screen, but it wasn't on in there.
Day off tomorrow, got the electrician coming to fix a light switch; more money!!
10 days till pay day = another month less till DFD.:Dmissmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

What a fab morning!!:j
Electricain has fixed the light switch £20. Now need to go shopping for a few bits @ Aldi, my new fav shop. Also picking up some flowers from there for the cemetery. Didn't manage to go on sunday for mother's day as I was working all day. Will also buy a bunch of flowers for my mate with a broken leg. Looks like she may have to go back into hospital because the knee's fixed and not bending, poor thing:(.
Back to work tomorrow for run of 6. Overtime tomorrow though to bust these debts. Now I've set my mind on it, I just want to get rid of it all quick and before my DFD if I can!!
Have a great day everyone, enjoy the sunshine:).missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Here we go with week 4....
Still loving my spending diary; from it I've discovered I'm spending much less on food than I thought wk3~ £54, wk 2~ £75, wk 1~ £66. Averages out to £65 per week.
Checking my bank balance on line every day. Currently OD £800. No further payments to go out, so that is £600 down on last month! Brillliant. Hopefully, can keep chipping away and get rid completely by summer.
Managed to save £6 from last weeks cash budget. This is going in the sealed tin for xmas. Think there is probably about £30 in there already after less than a month.
Can't wait for pay day next friday. Really excited about updating my snowball, because I paid off Barclaycard CC early, should bring DFD earlier!:T
Sent off letter to Sainsbury's bank with £10 asking for copies of my loan/ card documents. Going to try & claim PPI back. I'm sure that I have paid loads to them over the last few years??
Love paying for stuff with cash. makes me stop & think before I buy anything now. Will have a busy few days now; late, early, late, early shifts so won't be around much. Got 4 lovely days off next week to look forward to!
Hoping to get a good pay day next week, should do, did some overtime & some weekends too!
Anyway, off I go to clean up, do some washing, good day for getting bedding dry; tis blowing lovely on the line. going to make some homemade soup then get ready for work ~ hate friday afternoons at work:mad:missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Had 6 awful days at work and thankfully now got 4 days off. Am waiting with anticipation to find out my wages (get paid Fri) and pay some more debt off. Received a Barclaycard statement yesterday with £2.40 interest on it even though I paid it off in full earlier this month. I felt so annoyed about it I called them up to ask how this could happen. They gave more some ludicrous excuse and so I said I wanted to pay it and close the acount. The closure dept begged me for ages offering to pay me back late payment charge, pay back my £2.40 interest but I was so incensed I just closed the account. I felt quite powerful!! and actually felt sorry for the poor chap begging me to stay with barclaycard.
Sent off template letter asking for copies of Sainsbury's bank documents so i can claim back missold PPI's. hopefully this should arrive soon!!
Had a lovely day visiting a friend with a mobile home in lincs. Was very relaxing and enjoyable! Going to meet my sister in the local now for a lager. Feel like I deserve it after the horrid week I've had at work.
Bye for now!missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hello,
Got paid today, not as fantastic as Jan & Feb but still a good one. Updated the snowball after paying £800 off on loan & CC's x 2. Looks like I may have 0% promotion on my virgin card so might be worth switching MBNA balance over to it??
Still sticking to my weekly budget, spending cash, no cards and writing all spending down.
Going for eyebrow threading with my left over cash from next week for a treat ouch!!
I am treating DH to meal at pizza express tonight, got £30 worth of tesco reward vouchers to spend!:rotfl:and a bottle of peroni beer or two!!
I am really hoping that I can claim for missold PPI's from Sainsbury's bank, it would really help to bring my DFD forward.
Back to work tomorrow for two then off for another four ( using up annual leave). Next weekend DH is taking me to Birmingham for the night for a treat. Staying at some odd hotel called nite nite! the rooms have no windows.
Heres to a lovely day.missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Had a lovely freebie meal at pizza express last night courtesy of £30 worth of tesco reward vouchers. I chose pollo verdure, gelato, cappucino all washed down with two glasses of pino grigio blush!!
We ate earlyish, because someone tipped me off that a girl I know is in the final 20 in over the rainbow on bbc and I wanted to get back by 9pm to watch it! Her name is Sarah and she is such a star. She used to go to stage school with my DS#2. Unfortunately they hardly showed anything of her, which I'm hoping is because they keeping it a suprise how brill she is. Keeping my fingers crossed se goes a long way!
Supposed to be going to a wedding after work tonight. What to wear?? no news clothes for me anymore. I did spot a very nice navy dress in monsoon yesterday and normally as it's pay day would have got it. But I didn't!! I'm definitely not the girl I used to know.
By the way, because i overpaid my debt last month, my DFD is now

Had a minor blip yesterday. Popped into sainsbury's to buy some milk for work and came out with a bottle of Lanson champagne! It was a bargain £15!It was a complete impulse buy, am clearly not cured of my delusions of grandeur;). Will try to make ammends by selling a few bits on ebay ( other impulse buys still with tags on!).
On a positive note, I suppose I do have some self awareness nowadays about the mistakes I make?missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Stayed in to avoid spending cash today on my day off!. Listed 3 books & Monsoon tops & dress on ebay. Want to put some Radley bags on but feel a bit bad doing it, cos DH & Ds's bought them for me, but I don't like them anymore! (the bags not DS's & DH)
Tried to use what's left in the fridge and improvised a Delia recipe to make some nice spuds that went down well for tea.
Football on tv downstairs. Thnk i'll make myself comfy upstairs then!missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j
