Great payments!! I bet you can't wait for the PPI claim!!
New York will be fantastic. I went in the year 2002 in the march before the twin towers went down. I love it there, my fave memory is ice skating in central park.
I went to a fast food place there and at the time i was vegetarian. I asked for a veggie burger and it cost 70 cents!!!! I was pretty pleased!!...until it arrived and it was one piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato in a bun :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Orange Fairy

Yes I'm waiting with anticipation for PPI. They have credited my current account with £978 and i should get the rest of the money by cheque next week!!
Really excited about holiday now. I've been to nyc in winter but not summer before. Last time we were there it was about -7! got lots planned so will be busy busy! Found out mary j blige is performing central park for free on morning of the 2 july, so me & DS#2 are planning to go!!
Today, taking my boys to town to get them some new converse shoes. I said they should wait till we get to NYC because there will be so much choice and probably cheaper as well, but they know best of course!! Need to get some cheap padded envelopes as well, selling some stuff on ebay!!!
I'm so unorganised, not even started packing yet! infact the cases are still in the attic!! must get moving! bye for now!
Have a good day.:)missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Good news, my loan balance is now £17,081.
Bad news overpayments will not reduce the amount I pay back but will reduce time left to pay.
So my dilemna is ; do i overpay and get DF by Sept 2011 0r do I save the extra and earn a bit of interest, then pay off loan early in full, thereby saving a £1000 or so.
The sensible option is clearly the second, but I just wanted to be debt free sooner!!
What to do???;)missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

How frustrating! If it were me i'd say in order to bring your debt free date sooner carry on overpaying and then the loan will finish sooner. If you put money into savings, chances are you'll likely find something to spend it on in meanwhile

Hi!!!
I'm back from New York! it was so expensive, I will never complain about the price of drinks in pubs here ever again!! We had a fabulous time, a last blow out before I re start my debt busting once again.
Anyway, my cheques for PPI arrived whilst we were away. I have decided rather than overpay my loan I am going to save in a regular savers account and have also put a healthy lump sum into a fixed rate ISA for one year. Hopefully, I will be able to pay the loan off early in full in around one years time, which means i should get around £1000 reduction in the final figure.
All my cc's will be paid off once the PPI cheques have cleared.
Thanks to the help & advice from this site I have managed to reduce my debt significantly since feb this year.
I really hope that I can carry on with my new plan ~ plan B.- Sainsbury's loan £286 per month
- save £500 monthly in fixed rate regular savings plan (1 year)
- pay lump sum £4000 into fixed rate ISA (1 year )
- no more credit cards
My new debt free date is Set 2011!!! :Tmissmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hi,
Not been on here for ages. Thought I'd post to keep myself focused ~ to be debt free in 14 months time!! I have achieved a lot in 5 months and need to continue to achieve my goal.
My position is that all CC's have nil balance!!
I am not overdrawn anymore!!
My debt is now under £17k
I am saving madly to pay off balance off Sainsbury's loan in full hopefully by sept 2011!!
I have joined virgin gym to get fit:).
Life is so much better since sorting my debts out. I feel so much less stressed and worried about money.
Best Wishes to all......:rotfl:missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j
