Just popped in for a nosey and have been most impressed by your eforts to date :T
Hope you have a good shift tonight. I generally find it helps to, ahem, "accidentally" drop the buzzer somewhere out of reach. Just kidding, however a little WD40 on the commodes... now that really does work!0 -

Hi,
What a busy few days I've had since i last posted. Sold kipling bag for £10 on Ebay, that was much more than I hoped for!
Yesterday went flat hunting with DS#1 & GF in nottingham. What an experience that was! We viewed 6 flats and eventually found one they liked. Pretty scarey though watching him sign rent agreement until end of July 2011 & all that it entails. We have agreed to give him £300 per month when he's at uni for living expenses. I have no idea if this is stingy or not?? He gets his loans that will cover tuition fees & rent / bills. Not entitled to any grants:(. He is planning to continue working every weekend at Mc D's earning him £240 per month so we are topping him up with £300. On paper he should be ok? We will have to review it I suppose.
Been in town today and been a bit naughty really. Got a new toaster ( ours was 11 years old & rusty). It was a bargain Dualit 4 slice £55!!!
Also bought some eco bathroom cleaning cloths. My sister reckons they will save me a fortune in cleaning products? Worth a try? Better go & test them out!:pmissmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hello, Good News! :j
Got a letter from our soliciter yesterday about a claim my mum made against dow corning in USA in 1994. My mum had a mastectomy in the 70's and was fitted with an implant. In the early 90's mum was really ill with a connective tissue disease (lupus & scleroderma ) that was felt to be related to the implant. Mum died in 1996 age 53 and we have continued with the claim. The latest letter states that they are awarding mum a disease payment at last! It won't be much especially after the soliciter has taken their 20%.
I am just really pleased for my mum's sake. It will probably take years still. After all we made the claim originally 16 years ago.
Off to work on a late shift, boo!!missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hi littlekel, thanks.
Yes, Virgin CC will be paid off in full this month then I'm tackling MBNA card that hopefully should be cleared by end of the year.;)
Am very chuffed about the US claim. They offered us $3000 initially but we refused. Think it will still be along drawn out process though.
Bye for now.missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Well, what a day.. DS#2 had leaver's day. Shared a stretch NYC taxi limo with his friends to school! They all looked lovely. Was quite emotional!
Anyway, I have been very naughty today & ordered a pair of Gucci sunglasses on line. I've always fancied some and had a bit spare this month & now i feel really guilty. Hopefully they'll be horrid and I'll have to return them.
Only 2 days till pay day and I have £16 left in my purse! Have done really well this month:cool:.
Bye for now, MMmissmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Hello,
Pay day tommorow! Can't wait! Vile Virgin card will be paid off in full!:T
Going to try & be really strict this month with spending. We're on holiday at the end of June and am going to avoid buying stuff we don't really need! (Like i used to do!).

Hi, we're going to new york for 5 nights. Originally had booked fly drive to California but I was struggling to save the money so i cancelled it (lost deposit!) and booked flights & hotel seperately for NYC. It has only cost £2300 for 4 adults for 5 nights staying 4* on Lexington Ave. I had managed to save that already & some spending money before my LBM in Feb. So I basically it's paid for! this will definitely be our last big holiday for ages because of supporting the boys at uni for the next few years!
Most of my debt is from funding expensive holidays over the past 5 years. the reason I'm able to tackle my debts at the moment is due to me not having to save for hols any more. how sstupid have i been???! We did have some lovely holidays but i would prefer to be debt free anyday!! Life would be one long holiday!! Oh for the day when my wages are mine!
Anyway, so in 35 days time, we'll be at Heathrow airport waiting for the flight! very exciting!!:cool:missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j
