Credit review team

Hi.
Hubby has an RB of S credit card and had a letter today from their credit review team acknowledging he hadn't missed any payments, and was under his limit etc but they believed his financial situation had recently changed and wanted him to call them to see if they could be of assistance ???
We did have a blip in recent months as Halifax removed our overdraft so we had to go onto an arrangement to repay it over 6 months but apart from that, everything else is fully up-to-date so we're curious as to why RBS are writing to him, and the implications i.e will they withdraw the limit ?
Would anyone know what the purpose of this team is ?
Thanks
L

They may reduce his limit as the arrangement to pay marker is a red warning sign that you're struggling and gets marked as A/P = arrangement to pay a debt!
Just argue your own reasons back at them, or don't ring them.... they could actually try and sell you a loan or similar lol - it is RBS after all

The big banks use a system called CAIS and / or Insight which gives them a monthly feed of how you are performing with all other (3rd party) accounts - they don't need to perform a credit search or enquiry to see what's going on on your credit file once you become a customer.
The Arrangement to Pay marker will have trigged this, they may want to reduce the credit limit - seems the most likely thing. I would if I were them!
I think RBS group are getting much stricter as last year, for the first time in her life my mother had two limit reductions on her credit cards - both with RBS. She's never missed a credit card payment in her life and has accounts dating back to 1983 on her credit file with no arrears or missed payments, but still RBS didn't trust her with what they originally gave her.
Just the way the market is going at the moment; every lender is tightening up.:oCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
