Seller sent me wrong item

I bought a phone on the 14th feb, paid straight away as i always do,come wednesday i got a parcel through but def not a phone,i've contacted the seller who says they've sent me the wrong item and could i send the other back,no problem i thought, they'd said that the other person had been in touch and was also sending their item back(my phone).its now a week on and they've told me they're still waiting for the phone coming back, thing is how long do i wait, how long is acceptable before raising an item not as described or received,or to that matter which would be best to do as i received an item just not the right one...any help or advice appreciated

the original parcel to myself was sent by normal post,no signature,no tracking even though it was paid as recorded in the auction,i sent it back the same way, first class normal,in all honesty what was sent to me by mistake wasn't worth the postage back.am i being over cautious, could it be a genuine mistake ?

  • Wait a few more days longer then open a 'item not received' dispute with ebay.

  • Have you had your return p&p charges refunded for the item that was sent to you by mistake?

If you've already returned the item then opening a 'not as described' dispute won't be helpful because Paypal will require you to give them tracking information for the returned item.
