Cancelled 0% on Vigin card

in Credit cards
Hey all.
Just would appreciate any advice to see if I have any hope of getting out of this - although I doubt it to be honest.....
The mrs had a 0% for 15 months offer on her virgin card recently - when the card was practically full. We did the sums, and figured it was worth the hassle and transfer fees to clear the card, and transfer back onto it to make the most of the 0% rate, and in doing so clearing all of our other cards.
All great.... except that in the process of transferring everything around, she ended up going over her credit limit by £18..... so cancelling the 0% upon reading the small print.
If we'd noticed this before transferring back onto the virgin it wouldnt have been a huge deal - but 'of course' they don't specify the rate applying to the transfer at time of requesting, so didnt notice until the statement came through.
The upshoot is that we paid circa £500 to move 9k around..... but are now faced with paying £200 a month interest on top. Great.
Is there any hope of virgin playing 'fair' on this - is there any point writing a letter to them to see if they'll help out and lower the interest or refund the fees?

Give them a call explaining that you did not realise that you went over credit limit and that you'd rather stay with them & could they reinstate your 0% offer. It does not mean that they will do it, but asked nicely. I have seen other post here where people have been in same situation as you and they gave them offer rate back0
