Money taken but nothing delivered....

I recently made a purchase to the value of £12 from an online retailer (esave2day). As I had seen the "deal" posted on a certain website which lists hot deals(!) I foolishly decided not to check out the credentials of the website and bought the item in a hurry.

Now its been over 10 days. The company debited my account the day I placed the order and claim to have dispatched 9 days ago. I haven't received anything. I've tried ringing them but no one answers the phone. I've tried emailing them but no one replies.

Its possible that they have dispatched the item and Royal Mail are being slow or have lost it. I'm suspicious though because the retailer is un-contactable.

What would be my rights if I never received the item? Or if I want a refund so I can purchase it from somewhere else...

Thanks

  • Under DSR's, you really won't be entitled to a refund until 30 days have passed, as that is how long the retailer has to deliver, unless you have agreed a separate date with them. They then have a further 30 days to make the refund.

I think the bigger problem here is who do you get it from? If the retailer no longer exists, then you won't get it back from them, and as it's only £12 S.75 of CCA '74 will not apply.

I don't know the company, so can't comment on them. Hopefully someone else who has used them will come along shortly.

from other's experiences on the net, it seems that some people have had delivery from them, just very very slowly.

On their website, they claim to use Royal Mail 1st class post and aim to have packages delivered between 1-5 working days.

At the moment, they seem to still exist, but if anyone else has an experience with them, good or bad, I'd be glad to hear it!

Its now been about 2 weeks since I placed the order. They won't answer the phone or reply to emails.

Their website is still up and running and by the looks of it they're still trading.

Is there anything else I can be doing or anyone else I can be contacting? Not really sure where to go from here....

if you paid by visa debit or credit card contact your bank. Although legally unless stated companies have up to 28 days to send goods out

This bunch also trades under the names Aroras Cash Store, Shop4Tek and Price Busters. None of them appear particularly prompt with orders. It's run from a backstreet grocers/newsagent. The firm features elsewhere on these forums. Complain to Trading Standards.
  • I too have had a recent experience with these guys. Ordered a wireless router at £25 last week and to date have had no order confirmation, have tried to call numerous times but goes to voicemail, sent e-mails through their contact form with no reply. At a loss at the minute as to what to do.

Write a real letter, send it recorded delivery to...
    ARORA TECH LTD, ESAVE2DAY.COM
    61 ATLAS ROAD
    CARDIFF, CF5 1PJ
    UNITED KINGDOM

    (address from their website)

In the letter let them know exactly what you want and when.

Google letter before action for sample letters.
