Am i covered?? Re egg card and stolen goods?

Today i made a purchase with my Egg card while shopping in one individual store, it was £75. I then went to another store and while i was paying, and my shopping was beside me on the floor, someone stole my shopping. It happened in debenhams and unfortunatley they dont have cameras on that area, typically, it was reported to the store, the centre, the centres security and the centres police. Tried contacting egg but that departments closed sundays. Will i be able to claim anything or is it just one of those things? :(:(:(

Looks like you are covered from a quick look at their website.
However you must report it to the police within 24 hours.
They won't do anything but it's a condition from Egg and you should get a crime number.
Obviously don't call 999 - it's not a life or death emergency, but you should report it the police ASAP.
  • thanks for reply i appreciate it. I did report in the centre to police but they said they would call me back this aft and havent. Do i wait for the centre to open and contact them again or call my local station now and report fresh? x
  • Contact your local police station/no emergency number, they should be able to issue a crime reference number on the spot.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
