No Claims Dilemma

Hi, looking for a bit of advice...
My current car insurance is due to expire 21st of this month, I've just bought a new car today and need to insure it. I'm planning on moving to a new insurer, my question is would it be acceptable to state I have 4 years no claims bonus, as that's what my current renewal says? Or would I have to wait until the 22nd to be able to say I have the 4 years no claims?
Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Seriously, what do you think? You haven't earned the NCD until the policy expires and you haven't made a claim. If you incept a new policy early any company worth its salt would check your NCD against the start date. Why don't you just change the vehicle on your existing policy and then start the new one from the renewal date? How much are they asking you to pay for the week?0

Do this - and negotiate any charge they try to levy - after all they want you to renew, don't they?0 -
I don't think the OP will be in much of a position to negotiate. Although I can't imagine there would be much of a charge, if any at all.

Thanks for your replies. Sounds obvious now though!
I ended up changing the existing policy, I was originally unsure if I could... The option to change details/vehicle disappeared online (using SwiftCover) so I thought that was it until it expired. Turns out they needed to clear the renewal offer before I could make any changes.
I didn't bother negotiating the £1.94!0 -
They should send you another renewal notice for the new details with your NCD on so you can shop arround from the 21st with 4 years NCD (make sure they do send this!).0
