CC payment and interest

Need help, i cannot get my head round this.

Basically, i made a transaction through Paypal on my CC, i did have the cash in my bank account but Paypal would only let me pay for the transaction through my CC. So, i now have the amount showing on my online statement for this transaction, previously i had no money owing on the CC so there is no minimum payment required for this month but obviously i now owe the amount for the Paypal transaction. If i pay the amount owing now even though theres no required payment this month, will i be charged interest on nexts months statement? or if i leave it till the next statement to pay it off will i be charged interest then?

Whats confusing me is the term "if you pay your bill every month you wont get charged interest"

If you have no balance before this item then you should be able to make payment just after your next statement arrives, usually you need to get the money into their account by 14-21days from the date of your next statement. The due date should be on the statement and it needs to get to them by that date, so allow a few days for your payment to reach them.
