i don't think this is the right board, so sorry if it's not.
on 12th april, my family and i are flying to new york from heathrow and then sailing back on QM2 back to southampton. we through the best way to do it was to park the car at southampton and get train/coach/bus to heathrow terminal 5 so then when we get off the ship a week or so later, we can just drive home.
the train seems so expensive (for 4 adults) so we were looking at megabus or national express or something. does anybody know any other ways we can get from southampton to heathrow terminal 5? the flight is about 10.30am so we need to get to the airport about 7.30am.
any help would be appreciated, thank you.

National Express is £15 a head - but involves leaving Southampton nastily early - 0515. Is your car park there open then?
Megabus don't serve Heathrow.
It may actually be less hassle to park at Heathrow and get the National Express back after the cruise.0 -

Have you considered Heathrow hotel with parking as you have an early flight check in, then pick up a hire car at the port. I know it's quite expensive to park at Southampton docks!
Enjoy the crossing, hope it's not too rough.

Hi,
I know few ppl who offer themselves as private taxi drivers (or sth simillar). They operate Southampton, London, Bristol etc. They have their own cars and are cheap to run. I have used their help on my own few times.
I did say THEY not HE because as far as I know there is a few ppl doing this in my area (Southampton).
Just let me know so I could give you more details via PM.
