Breakdown cover

Insurance of a kind. My renewal for AA was quoted at £144.50. Offer for new members on Moneysupermarket.com was £94.50. Free phonecall and 10 minutes later operator agreed to drop price to £85.50 'in light of our 22 year membership' and not wanting us to go anywhere else. Could be worth others having a try.

I phoned the RAC about this last year, and was told that my renewal premium was about £40 more than that offered to new customers (not including Quidco cashback - which made it even cheaper)

When I poimted this out, I was told not to "forget that I was benefitting form the no call out discount" - I asked how exactly I was benefitting, and explained that if I was a new customer, I'd be paying a lot less. The lady I was speaking to just didn't get my point at all.

Needless to say, I switched to the AA and saved a packet - will switch again this year if I get the same rhubarb!!

    Mine is £37 with AutoAid.
It's pay and claim but you could still save quite a bit more.

I have used europassistance or rescuemycar. Only £38 a year. Alternatively, use your tesco clubcard vouchers to purchase RAC much cheaper.

Check out the level of cover you get though.
Not sure what you get from the others but with autoaid it's rescue, recovery. at home and onward travel.
They don't have any bad terms that I'm aware of like max number of call outs.
