I've made an error with my credit card and I want some reassurance please :)

Last week, my credit card was cancelled and a new one issued because there was an attempted fraudulent use on my card.

New card arrived and was activated on Saturday.

Anyway, today I made an online transfer from my bank to the credit card but I sent it to the old credit card by mistake

I have phoned the cc company and they have said that it will credit my new card but I'm worrying that it wont :o I wont know for up to 48 hours if the credit has gone through to my new card, so wondered if anyone else has experience of this.

I realised as soon as I sent the payment that I had made an error and could kick myself for doing it. Hopefully it will work out fine, but that reassurance would be gratefully received :o:)

    It'll be fine.

  • It will be fine although take slightly longer as manual intervention may be required to transfer the funds from the cancelled carf to the new number.

Although I paid my Barclaycard with the old number... from my Lloyds TSB account... and it still got there same day.

    Awesome :o

(Didn't show until the next day but was dated the same day I paid out of my Lloyds A/C. Faster Payments + transposing to the new a/c number same day. Nice!)
