I'm trying to set up a Standing Order to overpay on my Halifax mortgage but the account number and sort code shown on the internet banking come up as invalid - has anyone else had this problem?

standing order means your comitted to find those payments each month

you might get unexpected bill--car repair £600

and struggle to find money--then hav to cancel S/O

i find it much 100X better using-- transfers an payments---come the end of month you know what spare cash you have then make that o/p.

    use asap---thats fastrack payment

You need to set it up via telephone banking or in your branch. For some reason, the system doesn't recognise mortgage sort codes and account numbers via internet banking.

    Hope this helps!

We have a SO to overpay our Halifax mortgage. If you need to alter it, once set up, (we went into our branch to set it up) you can just ring up. We have both reduced and upped the payment and had no problems.
