Annual travel insurance with 'new for old' cover

Hi guys
I was hoping someone could reccomend some companies to check out for annual travel insurance with 'new for old' cover.
I was with insure & go till the middle of last year & claimed on my iunsurance for the first time only to discover it was 'current value', not 'new for old'.
Need to buy insurance soon, and having the 'new for old' cover option is a priority.
My other main factors when choosing insurance tends to be: £10 million for medical bills (paranoid:o); 30 days covered; cancellation and curtailment included and worldwide inc USA cover.
Any suggestiosn gratefully received.:)

Why would you want to cover items on your travel insurance, do you not need cover on them all year round? perhaps a household insurance policy would be the best place to insure such belongings? both on and off holiday. Clothing would not be covered new for old even on a household policy and I doubt a travel policy would offer such cover.
For the relatively low sum you pay, you should really view travel insurance as a medical insurance for overseas.0 -
You are very paranoid, the biggest travel medical claim was for less than £2m0

I agree with inkyblue. Don't you want your possession covered everywhere?
In which case you want the personal posessions option on your household insurance.0 -
DA - Yep, as you know I work for an Orlando Hospital, and considering USA is the most expensive for medical treatment the biggest account I have seen in 7 years at this job was for $1.5m where the patient was in ICU for nearly 6 months, several helecopter flights (4 I think), etc.
Diva - What do you take that needs to be that much of a worry? Laptop? Mobile Phone? Family Jewels? The gold ingots you have kept for your retirement? Why on earth would you need to take them traveling with you? Can people not live without this sort of stuff for 2 weeks holiday? As Inky and Lisy say put them on your household ins and leave them at home.C. (Ex-Pat Brit)
