Sniping programs - are they safe?

Having lost a few things I wanted on Ebay lately I have started to install Prospector which I understand is a good sniping program. However it's asking for my ebay login and password which makes me a bit anxious - is it safe to go ahead or should I just uninstall it?

Opinions would be much appreciated please!
Oh dear, here we go again.

They need your ebay log in to actually snipe.

Not heard of that one but I've auctionsniper for ages as I buy a lot from the states and saves me having to stay awake all hours!

I use Bibnip and have never had a problem. But as said above, they can't bid on your behalf without your login details.
