Just saw an ad on the telly for spam friters, that got me googling and lo and behold, there's a comp.

Best bit is Phil Vickery is fronting it (that tart seems to put his face to anything :rotfl:).

Prize is not huge for a lot of effort, but thought I'd post for the laugh! Someone might want to enter

You forgot the best bit.........

Once your entry has been submitted you will receive a singed photograph of the lovely Phil Vickery.

and no that wasn't a typo - it does say a 'SINGED ' photo.:eek::rotfl:

and........

All recipes will then be put to an online vote to determine the finalists from across seven regions: Scotland, North East, North West, The Midlands/Anglia, South East, South West and Wales.

The budding chefs behind these recipes will subsequently be sent to London to take part in a ‘cook-off’ at the Good Housekeeping Institute in London on 12th October – where Phil Vickery will have his judging hat on.

Just read your post and visited spam's website to see what the fuss was about (and actually because I'm a secret spam fan!) and I have to say I think I'm going to buy a can and give it a go - if you get to meet the man himself at the final I'm there, he's lovely! A friend of mine entered last year and made it to the finals. She said the experience was amazing and she has already started preparing her recipe for this year!

I've just had a quick look on the SPAM website and I think I might give it a go myself, for all you really need to do to enter!

Besides, I wouldn't say no to a free weekend away just for being a bit creative in the kitchen!
