Will travel insurance cover us if BA strike?

Hi, We have just booked a cruise which is in March, and as part of the package we are flying with BA. This was all booked via Thomas Cook. I have just seen something saying they may strike sometime in March, so obviously I am a bit worried.

We have annual travel insurance, but cannot see anything in the details about strike action... How do we best protect ourselves? (If it helps, the insurance we have is Insurewithease.com bronze annual policy).

Thanks for your help,

    Insurance covers unforseable actions.
If you book after strike action had been announced (or the risk of it ) then no as it was forseeable.

    Hi,

So are you saying that no matter what happens now, it is not possible to cover ourselves for the potential loss of heading towards £5000, because Unite have announced a ballot to decide whether to strike? Seems very unfair! I suppose as my mum would say, "life's not fair"...

Does nobody have any responsibility towards us at all?

    Thanks

I would speak to Thomas cook. If its part of a package I am sure they will have some sort of contingency in place for you.

    Hi,

Wow, glad I phoned, it turns out as I booked it as a package from the crusie line, the cruise line is totally responsible for either getting us there, or giving us all of our money back, as it is ATOL protected!

Breathing a big sigh of relief!

    Thanks
