ATM cash did not appear-any suggestions?

I recently withdrew £100 from the Barclays ATM, the receipt appeard but not the cash. I bank with the Abbey and reported this straight away. They say the cast has been deducted from my account and that this will need to be investigated and can take weeks. Any suggestions to speed this up would be appreciated

Abbey will raise a dispute with Barclays about this. Barclays then have ten working days from the date that Abbey contact them in which to reply.
There's not really anything that you can do to speed it up, but if you don't hear back, then chase Abbey, chase them again, and keep chasing them.0 -
Under the new banking code I think they are supposed to refund you immediately.0

No there's no way to speed up the process. This type of issue usually takes a long time, usually weeks or even months. They will take some time to reconcile records with the service provider (Visa/MasterCard/ETC) as this is an inter-bank transaction. All you can do is wait on them.Mr. Mulla0

If the ATM was at a Barclays bank then might be worth popping in to mention it to them.
It happened to me at my own bank branch ATM on a Saturday night and when I went in on the Monday they said they had registered a problem with the ATM and refunded me on the spot.0 -
It could well be that your money is refunded the next time the ATM is balanced which usually is once a week. Or even when it next gets filled as they will check for purges. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
I think your bank is meant to refund you straight away pending investigation so if it turned out there was no extra £100 when they balanced the atm then your bank would then take the £100 back off you. It can take weeks to investigate though.would love to win an ipad!
