Ins quotes without car reg number

in Insurance & life assurance
Anyone know of any insurers who dont require a reg number to get a quote. Reason i ask is im thinking of changing my car but i would like to get an idea of insurance premiums.

    Most of them do not insist on the reg number, you just click on the button that says don't know reg or not bought car yet and then enter the car details manually

    yes, ive never looked before as i always know the reg plate
