Not paid overtime or bonus this month?

I have not been paid o/t or bonus for last month, probably a admin error i would imagine.

my question is can i insist they pay monies owed within a certain period ie 5days or would i have to wait until next month's pay day.
if i had known then what i know now

you can't insist but it would be reasonable to expect the company to loan you the money until they pay you your bonus and then you repay them back. But if you can manage until the month after its prob not worth making to much of a fuss about

Hi Oyster, I would ask your payroll dept as it might be an error, you've received your basic pay I take it. Probably depends on company policy, you will probably get your o/t & bonus next month although you could always say you require it NOW, and could they give it to you by cheque/cash in hand.

i understood that if the money owed was less than 100 pound they should pay you immediately via petty cash,.. worth an ask, im in similar position and need to speak to someone tomorrow about it and im a tad worried about tackling it...

Loops, you shouldn't be worried about it, after all you worked for the money. I do payroll and don't mind anyone asking me anything about their salary payments. As my company are switching to a new system, I expalined to them that there may be a few teething troubles to start with till we all get used to it,I am anticipating, there might be a few errors but not deliberate ones, in other words, your salary problems might be a system error or human error (someone not processing timesheets in time etc)

  • Often happens to us - I work for the NHS. We have to wait until the next month as new payroll run is too expensive. Apart from the time when there were dozens of us ... and some people got no pay at all!
  • What is normal procedure? When is the overtime usually paid?

I have known places that always pay overtime one month in arrears for the perfectly good reason that the regular basic salary is paid around the 26th of each month and the overtime won't be known until the end of the last day of the month.
