6 Month Investment

I have got 15k-25k sitting around around c/a getting little or no interest. I will not need to touch it for the next 6 months, when we may use it for a deposit for a house.

In the meantime, i would like to get a better return than i currently get. I have enough locked in shares, etc. so a lower risk investment would be good.

Ideas?? Thanks.

Lots of savings accounts currently paying more than 3% above RPI which is effectively a lot better than many accounts a year ago when RPI was at 3% and CPI at 4.1%. Check out https://www.moneyfacts.co.uk.

I'd have to agree with rb10.

The 2.65% bonus at the AA beats most 6 month accounts that I can see and the T&Cs seem more straight forward than the Ulster Bank alternative.

I opened this AA account online on Tuesday and got the paperwork by Thursday and sent my cheque off so it was as easy and quick as that.
