Car insured when on a SORN under house ins?

Thinking of taking my Vauxhall off the road and putting it on the drive with a SORN notice while i run my girlfriends old BMW into the ground.
I will cash in the car tax etc. What about insurance now - does the vehicle come under home insurance(items in the garden / outside) or can you actually insure a vehicle thats off the road?

Almost certainly not.
You need to check your policy but I bet there is an exclusion for motor vehicles in it.
I used to have a hot air balloon in my garage (really) and there is also an exclusion for aircraft.
You can get something called "laid up" cover though which is cheaper than normal car insurance.0 -
