Repayment to MBNA

Hi, I've fallen behind with my repayments to them. I have sent them a letter with my Income/Expenditure etc. They have received this, as have my other creditors. My other creditors have accepted what I can afford, and some have frozen interest & charges. But MBNA want me to ring them before they can set up a payment plan. I've writtent to them stating that I prefer to do correspondence by letter as there are records kept then, and I have heard they are very manipulitive over the phone. But they insist I phone them. I dont know why they do, as the other creditors have accepted the same info given as to MBNA.
Anybody else had this with MBNA?
TIA

I had the same problem, do not hone them. they are very nasty and pressurising on the phone. They refused to accept I could no linger repay them. In the end they transferred my a/c elsewere. how then agreed my monthly repayments and no more interest was added. My credit rating isnt great, but i'd already defaulted.
hope this helps0 -

Just an update. They forced me to telephone them otherwise they were going to involve solicitors and the rest. I can actually say that they were very helpful and accepted my repayment offer. Can't really fault them to be honest. Just a little annoyed that they couldnt have done it all by post.Regards,

In my experience MBNA are a really nasty bunch - I would try and get any agreements with them in writing and make sure you stick to it.
My husband and father both got into trouble with them when problems with quite small amounts of money escalated very quickly because of charges. I was was able to get back some of it after some fighting but its not an experience I would recommend!!BTW, I am not a "lazysaver" anymore - bit of a daft username really0 -
