Tooth Whitening Gel - Genuine Company or Scam??

A friend of mine purchased some tooth whitening gel from a stall in Reading high street (you know the stands that appear every now and again selling different things). She paid £30 for a small tube but when she got home she said the tube wasn't sealed, but worse than that the tube was open and the gel leaking in the bag.

Understandably she is not sure about using it now, and trying to get hold of the company has been difficult for her so she's written to them.

But she can't find a telephone number and I can't find one either. She called Reading Council to see if they had any details but no joy, and the money has come out of her bank account. But if they don't refund her money or replace the bottle with a sealed one, is there anything that she can do as I can't think of anything to suggest to her, apart from writing to them - which she has already done.

Makes me wonder what I would ever buy anything from such a stall in future.

Any advice would be great thanks.........

Your friend would really trust some spiv to sell her stuff to put on her teeth...she must be mad?Would she buy her antibiotics from the same bloke??

White Again Limited is registered at 54 Granary Way, Sale, Cheshire M33 4GF. Incorporated May-05 as a private limited company. Can't find a phone number unfortunately. They'll be exhibiting at the NEC Birmingham Wedding Show this coming October, so you could try contacting the NEC and asking if they have a phone number.

Thanks for the info re the wedding show, that's a good idea - i'll get her to ring them. It might be that they are fine as a company but as the product wasn't sealed she's reluctant to use it. We did a search on the internet but didn't come across the wedding show entry so thanks.

She's written to them already but there doesn't seem to be a phone number or email address which worried her, I guess she'll only lose £30 if she gets no where but she'd rather get something sorted and I said i'd see if anyone on MSE had heard of them!

My friend got her replacement product in the post today so she's happy now!

I came accross this thread trying to find the website ( i think it is being updated) to read your thread was a bit of a shock, i was looking for the site to try and purchase more whitening for my friend who commented on my new smile ! which i got from purchasing the gel, i will write to the address to see if i can order more>

I have just read the bottom of the thread to realise that yout friend got a replacement bottle. so there was a happy ending?

Hi i bought the white-again gel from the Clothes Show Live last year and was just wondering if it was ok to use. i paid £30 for it and also tried the product there and it actually seemed to make a difference..i just wanted to know if it actually worked without damaging your teeth? the website doesn't seem to work so i'm not really sure...
