Swinton Swintin Swinten, what is this/??/

Hello,
Coming to the point,
Swinton e-mailed me 5 quotes, £90.35 being the cheapest and £202.41 being the dearest.
What my question is:- If I go through cashback site, can I retrieve the saved quote or do I have to get a new quote. Will the retrival be tracked as new business ;) for cashback or Swinton has got a check on that?
Also, is swinton any good?
Thanks for all the views, in advance.
Spark!!

No. Do not retrieve a quote through a cashback site as it will pay to another referrer. There is a fair chance that it will not pay you anyway as you have been through a referral site and they will tag your name / address / reg no to the original quotes  see the threads in the referrers forum.
  • Thanks for replying.
I could not find the answer to my question there. So could you please make me clear:-
I think that once you click "Swinton through Topcashback, it has tracked my click to swinton. Whatever I do at swinton, generate a new quote or retrieve an old one, should not affect the tracked cashback I hope to get."
Could you please explain how cashback works.
    I shall be very grateful.

PS. Mods, I know it must been answered somewhere or you move this thread, but then I would loose track and individuality of the query I have. Thanks

My wife has just received cash back for her car insurance which she does through a Swinton branch. It was direct from them and all part of the renewal offer.

Where did you get the quotes from in the first place?

If it was via an intermediary e.g. confused.com, comparethe market etc.
then it will be tagged with their ID for a commission payment.
If's it taggeed for another company then you won't get the cashback becaue they won't pay twice.

If on the other hand you got it from Swinton direct it MIGHT be ok.

But it's always safest to clear cookies and get a new quote.
Even better to use a different browser.
And better still to use another PC that you haven't run quotes on.

If anyone else gets commision for the quote you defnietly won't get cashback.

Dogbot - for some one who posts an awful lot you dont know much do you. What a ridiculous statement, I question your knowledge of Swintons. On what basis are the comments made?

I got quote direct from Swinton. Then, I cleared all the history, cookies and cache( so easy in Firefox) I logged into Topcashback and clicked Swinton and retrieved quote.
Hopefully I can get £60 (£30 from swinton and £30 fron topcashback) off this way
reducing my home insurance to £30.35.
If this works, shall do the same for my car insurance.
Hope this helps somebody else as well as helped me.
    Thanks a lot

@JS101 - they are a mass market broker who throw up a fair few complaints on here, charge a fair bit in admin fees and don't really specialise. Personaly, I wouldn't buy from them as I have found their front line staff poorly trained. Just an opinion.
