You probably do need to switch to an AV channel, but there is usually more than one of them. AV1, AV2 etc. Which one is the player connected to?
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

Sometimes av switch in in menu on tv it is on Samsungs. Or it could be a loose cable like a scart they often come out
  • The others have jumped in to quick and not read your overview correctly. The DVD player is connected by HDMI, SCART, COMPOSITE, COMPONENT, S-VIDEO or other cable ??

Select AV (1,2,3,4) or EXT (1,2,3) on the TV.
How many TV outputs on the DVD player ??

DVD players are not on a 'channel' as they don't connect via an aerial / RF connection.

They will always be connected via an AV channel - as others are suggesting. You just need to work out which you have wired it through, and make sure the DVD is set up to ouput via that conenction.

If you let us know which make / model of DVD, we can help a bit more maybe.
  • , I have a Toshiba DVD/Recorder/Player with two scart outlets, one from my Sky didibox and the other to my Panasonic digital television. There is an AV button on the television handset to switch from AV1, from the Sky box, or AV2 to the player/recorder. When I have switched to AV2 I have to press OK on the handset to keep it there otherwise, I think, AV1 has priority.
