I would like to buy - an all in one printer

Hi everyone,
I am looking to buy a new All In One Printer. Ideally with high DPI and resolution for scanning. An added bonus would be to print photos via a memory card slot, but that isn't really essential.
I am looking to spend around £150-200 but would be willing to pay more for the right printer.
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
T8RSP

What are you scanning, photo or documents?
A lot of people buy scanners, and hardly use them."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

I bought an Epson stylus photo RX520 and now could not live without it!!
The RRP in Argos is £150.
It is all singing all dancing and works with the PC or as a standalone.
You can print directly from a memory card or scanner and is pretty much a one button operation which is idiot proof!
I did a lot of research on the net to try and find the best machine for my budget and although there were a few bad reviews, I think the problems that were had by the few were one offs.
Overall it is an excellent piece of machinery that produces high quality prints, including photos and it easy to maintain. This one has 4 cartridges and Epson is so reasonably priced that it doesn't end up being expensive in the long run either.
I was told that if you try to get the cartridges refilled then the quality suffers but you can get hold of non-branded cartridges that fit and give excellent quality too....... a little extra money saver there!
Just my experience though......
I would recommend staying away from Lexmark.......nothing to do with quality (it's okay) but the ink is ridiculously priced!Only dead fish go with the flow.....

gerretl,
I will be using it for all it's features. Scanning in documents, photos and the like. My Dad will probably use it to scan in old things like Programmes from concerts that he's been too, like Mozart and Handel!
I will use it to print photos off from my Digital Camera's Memory Card too, so it will be well used!
Vickithefairy,
Thank you for your reply!
I have a Lexmark X73 (or 83!) currently, and the quality could be better and you would think it would be better for the amount you pay for the ink like you say! I bought a cheapy Epson basic printer for £25 a while back, and it's not been bad, but after a few too many mishaps with the Lexmark, it's been shown the door!
I'll look into that model and see what people say about it on the interweb thingy and at work!
Anyone know of any other good models?
Thanks again!0 -
My Brother DCP-117C is brilliant and even genuine carts are only around £15 a set of four and £8 for compatibles. Printer cost £49.99 from PC World online picked up in store and is still available. Many other models around same price .
