Well yet again Hastings make my bllod boil. This £30 fuel back is a rip off. You have to claim by 3 x £10 plus fuel receipt from 3 different consecutive months plus their 3 vouchers to go with it and then send in the claim all together. I did not understand the instructions thinking I sent in 1 voucher with receipt to get £10 cheque back. But No I get receipt back - no voucher stating you claim for the 3 months all together after 3 months. But as I have not had the voucher back I can not claim at all now. After ringing Hastings they state that the company is Leapfrog nothing to do with them and they have no numbers for them!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope I neve have to make a claim with HASTINGS and I WILL NOT be going to them next year....................................

Is that because you wouldnt read it properly and fill in the claims form wrong0 -
Let me guess: The letter sent to you had a reference. If so, send in your 3 receipts with a covering letter quoting the reference and saying "you didn't send me the voucher back, but here's my 3 receipts".
They probably kept the voucher so that you couldn't pass it on to someone else so that they could make a claim too, having already registered yours.
Have another look at the letter and see what it says. If there is no reference or information, post back and I'll see if I can come up with any more suggestions.
Anihilator, your comment wasn't helpful, informative or beneficial to anyone, but I am sure it helped with your ego. Sorry Oscar, don't agree with you here. This thread is yet another example of how someone has not read their instructions properly and then thrown their toys out of the pram when things don't go their way. Isn't it funny how these type of threads never start with "I've made a !!!! up now I need some help to try and rescue the situation.". It's always someone elses fault.
If people are going to have a bit of a rant then others may take exception to it. That's what forums are for. Fair enough if the post was abusive but it wasn't.All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
Hey guys,
Thought i'd see if I could chime in on this thread rather than start my own one.
I recently sorted out car insurance for my Mum via hastings.
I had to chase them up something rotten to get the fuel vouchers through, eventually they came through and my mum started collecting her receipts.
After getting one receipt from november, december and january she sent them off with the vouchers.
Got a letter back today, claim denied because the postmark was too soon.
After checking the leaflet it says that the receipts must be "posted within 14 days of the last day of the last month claimed"
Even I had to really think about it for a minute before I realised what they were getting at, and my mum is over 70 for christs sakes. So not only did they refuse the claim, keep the vouchers and use the stamped addressed envelope that she had to include in the first place because she sent them back a couple weeks too early, but now the letter from them, which only has hastings contact information and no reference number appears useless too.
Surely I must be able to do something about this, hitting up the consumer forums after this too.
Oh and I realise that its technically a case of not reading the small print properly, but I just think its poorly worded and a very strange "rule" to put into place, which is why its easily missed. The one receipt from each month in 3 consecutive months is bad enough (she barely does any mileage to fill up once a month as it is).
Oh and the letter has no information on it, her name/address, reasons for refusal, signed The Leapfrog Group on behalf of hastings.
Hastings headed paper, hastings address at the bottom. No other contact information0 -
More on this (includes contact details for Leapfrog) here:

Well at least i'm not the only one I guess
Cheers Quentin0
