New seller - non payer what do I do?

Any help would be appreciated. I sold 5 things ending Thursday and 4 buyers paid immediately through paypal. I sent an invoice on Thursday to the other buyer. Still hadn't heard anything and sent another invoice yesterday. I did give details if they wanted to post cheque but would have thought they would have contacted me to let me know thats what they were doing.

How long do I leave it before I leave negative feedback for not paying. Was thinking I could send them an email at some point saying if I hadn't heard anything within a specified time would leave feedback. What do you think?

If they don't pay should I contact the next highest bidder and offer them the product before relisting it for auction?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but I've only ever bought before and I suppose not everyone pays as promptly as me.

just wait, ebay gives you 7 days before you can file a non paying bidder,

after that, there's another 7 days before you can claim your final value fees back, and you can re-list for free

    BE PATIENT

not all buyers immediatley pay, some need a reminder, most don't commumicate as well as you''d like

DONT threaten or get aggressive with the buyer, BE NICE, ask them is everything ok?, simple really

if you hear nothing on day 7, send an email reminding them that they may get a strike on their account if they don't pay, then nothing, file the NPB, that usually reminds them :-)

    good luck

I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

E bay rules say payment is to be made within seven days so you are way too early to start chasing payment, and your buyer may feel that you are hassling them

I for one would contact a seller if I was going to pay by cheque but not all buyers will, I would wait until Thursday before you do anything and then send another e mail saying that you will start a NPB alert if no contact is made within 24 hrs

Hi. It has been less than 3 days since your auction ended so it's still early days and you are being a bit impatient. The buyer has 7 days to pay you as by Ebay rules. I advice you to wait now as you have already sent 2 invoices. If by day 6 after the auction he still hasn't paid send a last invoice. After 7 days if he still hasn't paid DO NOT leave a negative feedback straight away but start a non paying bidder dispute. This usually gets them paying. It also helps you get your final value fees back. If the buyer does not respond to your dispute you also have the advantage of leaving him a negative without the risk of him negging you back. Do not relist the item except after the dispute is closed because if the buyer decides to pay you then you will have 1 item and 2 buyers.

    Thanks everyone.

Sorry for being impatient. I didn't realise about the 7 days to pay. Will wait and see if they contact me.

Wait until 7 days have passed. If still no word, start an unpaid item dispute. Negging should be the last thing on your to do list.

I wouldn't warn about doing the NPB. That will put them on guard to expect it and if they tick the "I still want to pay box" but they don't intend paying then they can leave you feedback and you're stuffed. I'd send a final invoice on thurs/fri and leave it at that. If you don't get payment by saturday then start the NPB. Don't warn them, just do it.
