Hi all
Well my first week at work is over and it went soooooooo well!!! :j
Everyone is really nice and although I get well and truly thrown in at the deep end, my boss said she's very happy with me
Was very worried bout how I would manage for money for the first month as was told wouldn't get paid til the end of July, but they've paid me for my first week as I spoke to them about it. That will keep me going for a little bit as one weeks wages there is more than 2 weeks worth of Incapacity Benefit!! And thats with emergency tax!! :j
Am due to be paid a little bit more Incap Ben and have filled in my form from them about getting the jobstarters bonus payment thingy so hopefully that should come soon and was also signed up with a special agency through the job centre who are paying me £200 for getting the job :j
So with all that money I've managed to get my water and Council Tax bills up to date, pay my rent and TV licence and do a months (very well planned) food shopping. Will only need to buy fresh things for the rest of the month now
Need to speak to my woman at the CAB now and do a revised financial statement to send to my creditors and need to sort out Working Tax Credit as well. Still no word on the Housing and Council Tax Benefit, and now I'm gonna have to write to them bout the change in my income. Problem is I don't know exactly how much my income is gonna be yet. Will ring up on my lunch break on Monday and ask what to do. Pretty sure it's gonna delay it further though
Right I'm off to see what stuff I've got lying around that I can stick on Amazon and Ebay. I'm so determined to pay off these debts as quickly as possible and now I've got this job it seems like I just might be able to do it :j
Have so many plans but until my debts are paid off I'm not going to do them - figure this will make me work harder on paying them off so I can get on with doing things I want to do like going to Uni (and getting into debt again!! lol) At least I will be more prepared then and hopefully will be able to keep the student debt to a minimum :rotfl:
Thanks again everyone - you are all sooooo lovely :T:ADFW Nerd 145

Hi all,
Not posted for a while as things WERE going great, and then my boss decided to fire me after 2 weeks!!!!! 2 WEEKS!!!! Said I obviously wasn't coping well and felt I shouldn't have taken the job as I'm obviously not well enough yet (clinical depression and anxiety) The fact that my colleagues were a lying bunch of b*****s didn't help as they gave my boss really negative feedback about me which sealed my fate
And of course, just to make things worse, the change in circumstances meant Housing and Council Tax Benefit decisions have been delayed further, and then delayed again with another change of circumstances. And obviously I came off Incap Ben when I started work and now have to reapply - meaning me and my fella are attempting (and failing) to live off his Incap Ben - a grand total of £59 a week!!!!
Ooh and the icing on the cake is the final demand for Council Tax - lost my right to pay in installments so if I don't pay over £300 by the 8th August I'm gettin summoned, and of course the court costs added on
Really don't know what to do now - am totally desperate. Have listed pretty much everything I can on Amazon and GreenMetropolis and had a couple of sales, am listin stuff on Ebay this weekend, gonna ask the corner shop if they will let me put a card/poster in their window for free to sell some other things, have quit smoking and forced my OH to quit as well, am eating cheap as possible food, using candles instead of electric lights (!), doin as much as I can at night on cheap rate (am on Economy 7), applyin for free samples so I don't have to buy things, goin for walks lookin for money on the floor, even searching outside Tesco for discarded receipts where people haven't collected their points so can get more (to use for food)!!!
Can just feel myself sinking further and further into depression again when I was really doing well and now there's a good chance I've got gall stones meaning tons of pain and probably an operation
Sorry to go on, but just needed to get it out. Off for a cry now

Hang on in there, Pandora! Really feeling for you. But I believe there are some useful provisions, nowadays, for people who come off sickness benefits for a job and then it doesn't work out - I hope someone who knows more than I do will be along in a moment - in the mean time, chin up - things WILL get better.

Really hope someone does know if there is any help I can get quickly, have been doing my best to find out but getting nowhere
Only thing I can think of is the Crisis Loan but been told I have to apply over the phone and I just can't get through
Really hope that I'm entitled to it and it comes through quickly!!
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
