going to tenerife in nov would it be cheaper to get a taxi from outside the airport to playa las americas, and roughly what should i expect to pay,as private transfers seem a bit on the expensive side

If you know that you will be staying in Playa then I would catch a taxi. I go there every year and alway catch one. There will possibly be a long line of people waiting for one but it goes down very quickly. I cant remeber how much it is but know it works out the same if not cheeper that having transfers.
You will beat the check in queue at the hotel though!!
Which hotel are you staying in?0 -
Old thread but since you said you were going in November, thought I'd add my 2 p worth
We were in Los Cristianos last month, transfers were paid for when booking the holiday. Had no problem (apart from a wait for the transport company because our flight was later than expected) when transferring from the outbound flight but getting back to the airport to fly to Glasgow was more troublesome.
We were told to confirm the flight 48h before departure, eventually we managed to do this and were given a time and reference number, 4:50 AM.
We were outside the resort at 4:35 AM and waited there till 5:35 AM. No sign of our transport. Check-in was at 5:40AM.
We decided to catch a taxi to the airport and forget about the transfer, cost €21.40. I presume it was a little more due to the fact we were travelling at the early hours of the morning.
Therefore, a taxi is the best option in my opinion (the transfer that didnt turn up cost €30 each way), you shouldn't be much more than €21.40 for a taxi from TFS to Las Americas.0 -
I went to tenerife about 18 months ago. Taxi to hotel further away than Playa Las Americas was about 24E - as other poster mentioned, the queue does look daunting but goes down suprisingly quickly.0
