housing and council tax benefit

hi guys
im posting for friend who no acess to computer at this time
she gets paid off work next week her hubby works thou they were worried about bills etc so told them try entilted to co .uk
seems they get help more with child tax credits and work tax and also housing and council tax this was based on his earnings and tax credits etc but when we tryed local housing and council tax calutalor it says huge diffrence like hardly no help ? no idea y not sure if it due ctc but on entitled to site says they entitled to it
any advice be good

    yes tax credits and working tax credits are income for housing so they may cancel out any increase

    hi thanks but says housing and council tax benefit was based on tax credit reward and her hubbys income :confused:

    that is correct ... his income is counted also. Entitledto is really just a guide, I suspect your local council one will be more accurate..is it a private rent? if so do you know what your LHA amount is?
  • Like has been already said entitled to is a VERY rough guide. I find that a lot of the time it isn;t very accurate at all. With regard to the HB/CTB the loacl LA's calculator will be the more accurate of the two. If your unsure call up the HB dept and ask them to do a quick calc with you.
