The long and short is, if you havent got it they can't have it. If you are really struggling to pay then maybe it will be better with a DCA as you can then arrange a payment plan with them according to your SOA. I guess your Credit file will be blemished by this though

    Good Luck x

Vanquis will probably use there own inhouse debt collection team, i've seen it happen to a friend for a £2500 card with them before.

At the end of the day, you have to state you do not have enough income to pay, and that under OFT guidelines (read it) they should not demand you to pay more than you can afford or suggust borrowing further to pay off the debt.
If you are struggling to cope, i strongly advise you ring national debtline asap. They offer free professional support for all types of debt and can point you in the right direction.

  • Passing the debt on to debt collections is not always a bad thing. Debt collection agencies (DCA) or in house collectors do tend to accept lower payments and freeze interest.

As others have said, if you don't have it, they can't have it.

Don't answer the phone to them.

Work out what you can realistically afford to pay even if it is only £1.00pm and pay that. Send them your income and expenditure so that they can see they are getting all you can afford.

National Debtline website has some good info and template letters you can use and I&E info to send to your creditors.

I know it's easy to say, but try not to worry. Most of us have been through what you are going through and have survived and become stronger. Be strong and ride the storm for a while and it will get better.

    Good luck and keep posting.
