Hi, I found this forum page the other day after being dooped on a loan (loans4sure!) It really knocked me for six, but the good thing is, I am coming back fighting! I refuse to let debt control my life, so I am taking the control back and on a serious "Get Debt Free" mission!!! :j
So cards on table....I'm 30, Hubby is 34, two lil ones (3 years and 10mths) and a staggering £36000 of debt! OUCH! Did a very honest tally up yesterday and thats it in black and white!
Look forward to reading all your posts and would appreciate any tips anyone has to offer!
xx:D

Hi Taking control
Glad you have found us here and that you are coming on board.
Well done for tallying up your debts - its scary but hopefully from now on the only way they will go is down :j
The next useful steps are to draw up an income & expenditure account (or statement of affairs) to see where your money is going each month, and then work through each cost item to see if you can cut the cost (eg by switching supplier) or cut back on non essential items. If you are stuck for ideas then posting the results on here will mean you are inundated with useful suggestions and ideas (all meant well).
The other thing is if you can't tally up your income & expenditure - if you can't work out where some of the money is going - then start a spending diary and work out exactly where it is all going. The key is to start controlling your money and not let it control you.
Good luck - and here is the link to the statement of affairs template we recommend http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.htmlA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
