Update: Looks like the show is back on TV in late Feb or early March according to TV & Satellite Week (I put the details in post #3 below). The Play pre-order price has jumped to 22.99! Costs around 15 quid, shipping and all, to order Region 1 sets from the States on Amazon.com. You can get Season 5, too.

Finally, we'll soon be able to get Season 4 of the American version of The Office! It comes out 29/03/2010 and costs £17.99 at Play, so the price isn't exactly a bargain. But I know others have been waiting for Season 4 too, so thought I'd mention this.

More importantly, it seems that U.S. shows aren't released on dvd in the UK until they've aired on TV here. I'm hoping that means Season 4 is scheduled to air on ITV before 29 March and I won't need to buy the DVD (I'm holding out hope for the show to air early next year)!

If anyone hears of a UK air date for Season 4, or finds a cheaper price for the dvds, please share!

Yeah, I'd like to know when it starts back too. I actually find it funnier than the UK version.

Looks like The Office is supposed to return the week of 27 February through 5 March. In next week's TV & Satellite Week (20-26 February, the one with True Blood on the cover), on the last page it has The Office in the section on what's coming next week. They did this last year around this time, however, and it never materialized. However, as the season 4 dvd is thus far scheduled to go on sale in late March, there's a good chance The Office will really be back.

It doesn't matter too much to me at this point as I already broke down and bought U.S. versions of the dvds for season 4 and 5 (and don't regret not waiting, lol), but just thought I'd mention it for other fans of the show.

Those wanting to buy the dvds who can play Region 1 discs, check Amazon.com as the prices are much cheaper than UK prices (there was a healthy price drop in the U.S. sets recently, even as the UK pre-order sets upped their price!).
