    Hi there

How long ago was it when you taken out this loan.
As Marshallka says - if this is the case it could be because the account is closed/settled??

If you taken this out say in the last 5/6 years or even settled within these years, maybe it will be worthwhile requesting a SAR which costs £10 postal order or cheque payment, they have 40 days to supply everything they still hold on you.
There is a SAR letter template on the link below:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

Post by recorded delivery to ensure this request reaches them, you can check this out on the Royal mail website "tracking".

Good luck, please post up for help when required.

Also a link here below with some useful guidelines of reclaiming for when your ready.

PS, also to add just as long though as you have the account number you can still try to reclaim on the PPI, hope this helps.;)

    With pleasure.

Well if you SAR them, you should be lucky to have something to come back which will help with your reclaim.;)
    Good luck.

Strange that they do not have it then??? You can however just make a complaint for PPI without it. They will have some details with your name, account number etc and also if you have some bank statements then the account number of the loan could be on them. I would personally forget the SAR and get the complaint in now if its only PPI you are complaining about. If you prefer to wait for the SAR first as Di says then that is fine also. Sometimes SARs contain information with proof of misselling.

I think im going to just send in my first letter asking for a refund on the PPI, as i have my account number.

Shall i just send it to my local branch? or should i send it to the address that i had the reply from?

    thank you
