Hi, I recentley started a new job and since April 09 I have earned approx £1500. The first week I didnt pay tax but now I am. It is a part time job of 20 hours per week and dont think I will exceed my personal allowance this tax year. Should I contact the tax office or will they issue me with a rebate at the end of the tax year?

you will get a rebate at the end of the (tax) year - you might need to ask for it thoughYes Your Dukeiness0

If you don't get a rebate at the end of the tax year, a nice letter to the tax office querying your amount paid and asking them to check if you are due a rebate will do the trick. I have done this a few times while waiting for my tax codes to be sorted in the past.
It usually takes a few weeks to come through.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. :cheesy:0 -
Far better to sort it out now, any tax rebate due after the end of the year will proberbly take quite a while to sort out. Did you hand in a P45 or sign a P46, if so what were the details?0
