This headline is misleading, when you read on you see it only works out at 520k each, don't forget there are a lot of millionaires in the cabinet to share with.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I'm shocked...
BTW, he hasn't cost the taxpayer a penny. The government sets the rules on tax, and people are then free to structure their affairs in any way that is legal to minimise that tax.
Same as those legally entitled to benefits maximising what they are legally entitled to claim. It's the Government who set the rules on benefits.
No difference really

Bet this won't be on the front page of the Sun tomorrow. Millions he's cost the tax payer.

How can he have 'cost' the tax payer millions when he has never been legally required to pay the tax? Its almost like saying that any other non tax payers cost the country millions!0 -
It'd be interesting to know how this came out. It's interesting that opposition MPs tax affairs seem to be getting in to the papers but not Government ones.
Perhaps I'm just a cynic but it does rather smack of a banana republic.0 -

I wondred the same sort of thing myself. Why is the front page of the Sun dominated by one benefits story when they could have led with this beauty......A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

If he doesn't pay his fair share - and let's not forget he lives in Richmond - then the money has to be found elsewhere, so that costs the tax payer.
Why does he get to live in Richmond and not pay taxes. I'd like to not pay taxes.
If I move to Richmond do I get to not pay taxes?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

I don't see what makes this a story. There are a set of tax rules made by the UK Government and he follows them. What do you expect him to do? Follow a special set of rules just for Tory MPs? What tax laws should he follow if not the tax code.
Pretty much everyone evades taxes in a legal way. Got an ISA or a pension? Ever brought back cigarettes or booze from Europe? It's the same thing.0 -

Didn't you know that there are special unwritten unofficial Guardianista rules that everyone must follow? In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

Same goes for benefits. Doesn't stop claimants appearing on the front pages of newspapers does it?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

I don't want to pay taxes. I don't happen, however, to be living non domiciled in Richmond.
How can you argue that this is fair but some poor person who claims benefits (who is doing nothing wrong either) gets pages of bile written about them in the Tory Press (and on this board) and that is OK?
